WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE DO & WHY IT MATTERS
A Christ-centered outreach ministry using God’s Word in woodwork to encourage, serve, and point people to Jesus.

WHO WE ARE
Resting Promises is a Christ-centered outreach ministry built on a simple belief: Jesus is Lord, God is faithful, and His Word can be trusted.
The name Resting Promises comes from the kind of rest Jesus offers us—the kind that is found in Him, even when life is heavy. That is also the heart behind 1128, taken from Matthew 11:28:
We want to be a ministry that follows the leading of the Holy Spirit, stays rooted in Scripture, and genuinely loves people well. We believe faith should show up in the way we live, serve, give, speak, and care for others.
More than anything, we want what we do to point people back to Jesus.
What We Do
Resting Promises was created to help bring God’s Word into everyday life in ways people can actually see and experience.
Through God’s Word in Woodwork, we create and place handcrafted pieces with Scripture on them in communities and everyday spaces. Our hope is that someone may come across a verse at exactly the moment they need it.
We also want to help make the Bible more accessible, because as meaningful as one verse can be, we want people to know the God behind the promise and have the opportunity to read His Word for themselves.
As Resting Promises grows, the ways we serve may grow too. But the heart behind it will stay the same: sow the Word, love people, and point them to Jesus.

What We Do
It matters because there are still people who do not know Jesus.
Some have heard His name but never really understood the Gospel. Some have never opened a Bible. Some are hurting, searching, grieving, lost, or simply wondering if God sees them at all.
And He does.
Jesus called His followers to go and make disciples. He told us to carry the Gospel beyond ourselves and into the lives of others.
That is something we take seriously.
Second Peter 3:9 tells us that God is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
That verse reminds us why outreach matters.
Sometimes ministry looks big. Sometimes it looks like one Bible handed to one person. Sometimes it is a verse placed on a bench, a conversation, a prayer, or a seed planted that we may never get to see grow.
We do not believe every moment has to be dramatic to matter.
We just want to be faithful with the opportunities God gives us.
That is why Resting Promises exists.
